This Unit lays the foundation for children’s understanding of dimension. Children will later come to realize that objects have substance, are composed of matter, and can be measured. This exploration of measurement will later aid children in recognizing that objects have measurable properties such as length, weight, and volume. In addition, these investigations hone children’s sense of observation and their ability to classify and compare.
